Prior to graduating from Cardiff University, Jess worked in a wide range of settings. Since graduation, she has worked for both Swansea Bay University Health board and Cwm Taff Morgannwg in a variety of roles including orthopaedics, medical, stroke, orthopaedics and community. Within the last few years she has specialised in stroke rehabilitation, with experience in an acute setting, in-patient rehab and enabling patients to return home through the early supported discharge team.
Jess has had many years of experience within healthcare and has previously worked as a support worker and taken on assistant roles within physiotherapy and occupational therapy prior to qualifying as a physiotherapist. She has experience in assessing and treating a variety of patients within medical, community, trauma and orthopaedics, stroke and mental health. She is passionate about working closely with patients to create specific goals to help improve and adapt to their lifestyle.
Jess has a highly regarded reputation for building a rapport with clients in a positive, respectful, caring and compassionate matter which she highly values, particularly within domiciliary rehabilitation. She has extensive experience of working within the community and helping patients to transition from hospital to home.
She is empathetic in nature and believes that compassionate care should be at the forefront of any treatment plans empowering clients to make their own decisions.
Outside of work, Jess enjoys keeping fit through training at the gym and cycling. She also enjoys socialising with family and friends and going for long walks.
