The Specialist MSK Physiotherapy Services at iPS are appropriate for patients who require advanced assessment and treatment options for an injury/condition of their upper or lower limbs (shoulder to fingers, and hip to toes).
Important: Our MSK Clinical Specialist does not assess or treat the neck, spine, lower back or sciatica. Our other experienced MSK physiotherapists are best placed to assess and treat these regions – please chose ‘Standard MSK Physiotherapy’ booking option if you require assessment / treatment to these regions.

These highly specialist services are offered by our MSK Clinical Specialist – Gareth Tremain, who has extensive postgraduate training and qualifications and over 20 years of clinical experience.
This service extends beyond standard MSK physiotherapy by incorporating:
This approach supports accurate assessment, clear explanation of findings, a collaborative treatment plan, including bespoke home exercise plan.
Our MSK Clinical Specialist Gareth Tremain will take a thorough history and perform a comprehensive clinical examination at the start of you consultation to help guide further assessment and treatment.
MSK Diagnostic Ultrasound Scanning is used by our MSK Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist, Gareth Tremain, to complement his detailed musculoskeletal clinical assessment. Gareth is a qualified sonographer having completed a ‘Post-Graduate Certificate in MSK Diagnostic Ultrasound Scanning’. Ultrasound allows Gareth to visualise joints and soft tissues in real-time, which provides valuable information to support diagnosis and guide treatment.
Ultrasound-guided injections are a precise and effective treatment used to deliver medication directly to the source of pain or inflammation. By using ultrasound imaging, our clinical specialist can guide the injection to the exact location, ensuring the medication is delivered accurately and with minimal discomfort. This technique is often used for treating conditions such as joint pain, tendonitis, bursitis, and arthritis, providing relief from chronic pain and inflammation.
If you wish to have an Ultrasound Guided Injection to treat your injury/condition, please choose an ‘Injection Consultation’ via online booking or by contacting our admin team.
If you would like a comprehensive assessment including a diagnostic ultrasound scan, but are not sure if you require / do not want an ultrasound-guided injection, please choose a ‘Specialist MSK Physiotherapy Consultation’ via online booking or by contacting our admin team.
If you have an injury/condition to neck, spine, lower back or sciatica or just feel you do not require the MSK ‘specialist services’, please choose a ‘Standard MSK Physiotherapy Consultation’ (as appropriate) via online booking or by contacting our admin team.
Important: We recommend you read our website pages on MSK Diagnostic Ultrasound and Ultrasound-Guided Injections to ensure you understand what injuries and conditions our MSK Clinical Specialist can assess and treat.
