Domiciliary Physiotherapy is a home-based service designed for individuals who are unable to attend our clinics due to illness, injury, or mobility issues. At iPS Physiotherapy, we bring expert physiotherapy care to your doorstep, providing personalised treatment in the comfort of your own home. Whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition, or working on improving mobility, our physiotherapists are here to support your recovery process.
iPS are one of the few private physiotherapy companies in South Wales who offer domiciliary Physiotherapy. We offer assessment and treatment at the patient's home, care/nursing homes, residential homes, assisted living complexes along the M4 corridor and surrounding areas.
iPS provide home physiotherapy for patients with a wide range of neurological and musculoskeletal injuries / conditions, including spinal cord injury, acquired and traumatic brain injury, stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, amputees, multiple fractures, post-surgery, as well as elderly individuals who have become deconditioned and /or lost their confidence to mobilise independently.
If possible, we progress from home physiotherapy to other locations / environments that are more conducive to the patient improving the mobility and function. It is often appropriate to progress the patient to attending our specialist rehabilitation centres, where they can access specialist facilities and equipment which can further aid their progress. We also take patients into local parks, town centres, shopping centres to improve their ability to function independently and improve their confidence.
When necessary, we will advise on appropriate walking aids and train the patient in safe and effective use.
Our team of specialist Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Neurological Physiotherapists work closely with our team of Physiotherapy Assistants to provide high quality rehabilitation as cost effectively as possible.
We do not offer online booking for this treatment option, because we must consider individual circumstances to schedule an appointment with the appropriate physiotherapist. Where possible we will arrange the initial home visits so that a family member, friend, guardian or case manager can be present, so they can support the patient and ask questions. If this is not possible, we are happy to provide feedback via email or telephone following the assessment.
If you require any further information on this service before proceeding with a booking, please get in touch via live chat, email, or telephone.
Our physiotherapists visit your home to provide the same high-quality care that you would receive in our clinics. We tailor each session to meet your individual needs, whether that’s improving mobility, increasing strength, or managing pain. Our therapists work with you to create a treatment plan that focuses on your recovery goals, helping you regain function, prevent injury, and enhance your quality of life. All sessions are fully customized to your condition and capabilities.
Domiciliary physiotherapy is ideal for individuals who are unable to attend the clinic due to mobility issues, illness, or recovery from surgery. This service is available to all ages, from those recovering from surgery to older adults with chronic conditions.
The frequency of visits depends on your condition and recovery goals. Your physiotherapist will assess your needs and create a personalized treatment plan, which may involve visits once a week or more often, depending on your progress and specific requirements.
During each session, your physiotherapist will assess your condition, help you perform exercises, and provide hands-on treatment where necessary. They may also give you exercises to do between sessions to help with your recovery.
We want to ensure that all of our patients receive the information they need to make an informed decision about their treatment. If you have any questions or if you require assistance with anything, please let us know.
