Richard came to iPS with a strong academic foundation and a broad range of practical experience spanning physiotherapy, fitness industry, education, and rehabilitation.
Richard’s passion is the rehabilitation of patient following life-changing injuries (including Spinal Cord Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury, Amputation and extensive fractures) and Sports Injuries.
Richard applies a multidisciplinary approach to client care—integrating clinical expertise, athletic performance knowledge, and educational insight to support recovery, enhance movement, and promote long-term health.
Richard attained a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy from Cardiff University, and a Degree in Sport Conditioning, Rehabilitation, and Massage from Cardiff Metropolitan University. His qualifications also include a Professional Certificate in Education and a Personal Trainer Award, enabling him to deliver both high-level therapeutic care and educational content with clarity and effectiveness.
With over seven years of experience as a self-employed personal trainer and rehabilitation specialist, Richard has designed and delivered tailored programs for a wide variety of clients, ranging from the general population to high-performance athletes. His approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, and he is committed to helping individuals achieve their health and performance goals safely and efficiently.
In addition to his clinical and fitness roles, Richard has an extensive background in education, having taught BTEC Sport, Level 3 Personal Training, and Physical Education across various schools and alternative education settings. His teaching experience enhances his ability to communicate complex concepts to clients and patients, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery and physical development.

Personal Profile
Outside of his clinical and professional roles, Richard is a dedicated athlete with a strong personal commitment to health, performance, and continual self-improvement. He currently practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a discipline that not only challenges physical resilience and technical skill but also sharpens mental focus and adaptability—qualities that directly translate into his approach as a physiotherapist. His sporting background also includes amateur field hockey and a range of water sports, which he continues to enjoy recreationally as part of a well-rounded, active lifestyle.
Richard takes great pride in his own physical performance and applies the same evidence-based principles he uses with clients to his own training. His strength and conditioning routines are informed by current research, and he continuously refines his methods to achieve optimal results while preventing injury. This lived experience as both a coach and an athlete reinforce his empathy and understanding when working with clients—from those managing injury and pain to athletes striving for peak performance. Richard truly believes in practicing what he preaches, embodying a lifestyle of movement, balance, and disciplined progression.
