Laura qualified as a physiotherapist in 2013 and began her career as a rotational physiotherapist in the NHS. This has given her a broad range of experience in a variety of clinical settings. Laura decided to specialise in neurological physiotherapy in 2018 and has worked across a range of clinical areas including stroke rehabilitation wards, neuro outpatient departments, acute neurology inpatient wards and intensive care units.
During her career, Laura has built up a wealth of experience working with individuals who have been affected by neurological injury including those with brain injury, stroke, Parkinson's disease and spinal cord injury. She is trained in the Bobath approach and designs her rehabilitation programmes that aim to optimise individual's movement patterns.
Laura has a special interest in stroke and brain injury rehabilitation and currently splits her clinical time between IPS and a stroke rehabilitation ward in the NHS. She is interested in the developments in stroke rehabilitation and keeps up to date with the latest research and evidence-based clinical guidelines to inform her practice.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys swimming and attending live music events.
